Question about Name Editor

Hi fellas I was just thinking about Name Editor.
Is it possible to use it in Quake Live? I saw there Q3 Files can be edited, so can't I somehow use it in QL? If someone knows the answer and how to use it I would be really glad. I think this also can help Chyl and some others who plays ;)

I never played it but if I remember well, Quake is one of those games where you can color your names. However the codes differs depending the game, for example Sam uses codes under for form of ^cxxxx, Track mania used $xxx and some other uses the proper HTML or codes that begins with a #.

you can't use Serious Sam's nameedit for games that use a different shape of code, but the codes often looks like the same (the numbers). What you can do is try to find the codes used into quake and then edit your names manually like we used to do in trackmania or in serious sam by using the player.plr files.

Nameedit was just a tool that was editing the plr files providing a tool that could easly apply the color codes without having to go through the notepad to do it.

true, same with QL
However QL supports only 8 colors and no transparency or flashing/bold/italics

You color you name with this example:
^1Gr^3ap^6hX
this will give you something like this:
GraphX (colors will differ)

It's easy to look it up on internet, however I didn't keep track of this and therefore am not sure if it's still possible on steam version.

Anyway color messages are still possible, and you can bind keys with some text to do quick "say" macro with colors
