CoD6 - Modern Warfare 2 (1st Gameplay)

Multiplayer will be great, no doubt about that, but I just hope that single player would be much more better than what it was in MW1. Linear-as-a-railway piperunning just isn't enough in 2009. I also hope that there won't be those annoying "respawning-enemies-until-you-reach-next-checkpoint" if you know what I mean.

Anyway MW2 goes straight to my 'must buy' list with bioshock2 & OFP2

It looks great yeah but it's the same engine as COD 4 and 5 so nothing really breathtaking to me..

It reminds me of a particular mission in Modern Warfare 1 in the woods for those who remember, it was stunning. I remember I paused in front of my monitor for a few seconds.

The game will no longer be called "Call of Duty" though. They'll only keep the Modern Warfare part. It doesn't surprise me since I never understood what they wanted to do by getting back to World War II with COD5 after a sudden but brilliant turn in COD4. Now I guess they just wanted to use COD name to promote a spin-off or they saw the incredible sales of COD4 as a great opportunity to start a new series.

To answer your questions Ferocious, they said yesterday at the E3 that ennemies no longer spawn by dozens, it's over. On top of that, they'll be some missions offering more freedom to the player but the game remains frankly scripted and linear for the most part. They sold 12 million copies of COD4 they won't change something that is obviously working. Especially if you compare it to Far Cry 2...

I'm not interested at all in the multiplayer, but I'll probably play the solo mode as I finished Modern Warfare 1. I never played COD 5 but now since the games are totally different (Call Of Duty, Modern Warfare) I might give it a try. I was a huge fan of Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, but I couldn't play a game I felt was outdated.

Oh and last thing, since the two games are now developped by two different teams (Infinity Ward and Treyarch), I can't guarantee the improvements I mentioned up above will be effective in the next Call of Duty (I heard about World at War 2)

But Infinity Ward won't make them anymore. Treyarch ( =Activision's own team who made sucky COD3 & COD-WAW) is, from now on, the developer of all new Call of Duty games.

I think IW will continue doing modern warfare- or "future warfare"- () games.
