If I may hijack this thread i'd like to know if you guys have made any experiences with the Logitech G930. I've watched several reviews and everybody seems to love it.
I'm still not sure if I wanna spend 106$ for a headset. I need it mainly to listen to music, so the sound quality is the most important point for me (who would've thought it?).
It supports Dolby Digital 7.1. Now, that I have no idea about surround sound - does it make listening to music any better (Dubstep/HipHop/Rap)? Or is it just useful for gaming?

    In a nutshell:
    Logitech G930 awesome or not?
    Sound quality great?
    Wireless headset recommendable?
Dolby Digital 7.1 useful when listening to music (especially Dubstep/HipHop/Rap)?
    Price-performance ratio good?

    Recommendations are also very appreciated!

I think it's crap. dolby surround can be only emulated and is useless on a stereo headset. if you wanna have a good sound quality buy an open sennheiser one

Well, you can choose between stereo and dolby digital 7.1 surround sound. 7.1 is of course virtual simulated. ^^
And every reviewer praises the sound quality. The question is - Is it better to listen to music with stereo or 7.1 surround ?

It's too expensive even for me I was always a big fan of listening to music by headphones, so Sennheiser is the stuff i can highly recommend you Actually i'm using Creative Fatal1ty Headset, it's very cheap and the quality is very good, but the main usage is for gaming, so i think you will not be satisfied if you're music enthusiast.

Definetly check for some Sennheiser headsets, you won't be disappointed

Thanks for your recommendation, but I'm in search of a headset (with mic.), not for headphones

It seems that the most Sennheiser headsets comparable to the Logitech G930 are much more expensive.

And I still want to know if 7.1 makes listening to music better or rather worse

for rich people I recommend the Sennheiser PC 350. for low budget the plantronics gamecom or creative fatal1ty gamer. I had a medusa headset with "real" 5.1 sound and it didn't convince me. stereo is enough to locate players. and emulated 7.1 can't make it easier to locate players since you still have only two earphones.
and generally for a good music quality open stereo headphones are the best. headsets are more for gaming and don't have such a good sound quality for the same price.
