Usually this rule applies: a good player in 1.6 is a great player in CS:S, and a great player in CS:S is a good player in 1.6

css is easier yes but it's not the only reason.

css has the french keyboard which 1.6 hasn't.

it's really a big problem when you must type something chat and you have to search which keys are what.

only good thngs in 1.6 are hitboxes placed well and the skill of the players.

nothing more.

Joakim's right.. and I've witnessed it.. a lot of players came from 1.6 and were top players almost instantly.. I still remember zet being in the best american team in less than 6 months

And even worse, there are even a lot of crap players in 1.6 who switched to source and became top players.. the current best roster in the world is composed of four unknown 1.6 players + the best rifler in the world who became pro after only 2 years of pubs.

Like Amco said, you can't possibly say that CSS is better than 1.6, they're very different games, but if you were to compare their gameplay, then 1.6 is clearly better, CSS is crappy.. The only good things CSS has would be the smoke grenades and the proper wallshooting.. Everything else, 1.6 wins.

As a matter of fact, if you pay attention, players who said source is better in this thread, are total noobs in the game, they don't know anything about it..and they didn't explain their choice with valid reasons.
