There are advantages and disadvantages for playing in REV. Since the people who voted REV actually wrote down why they want and those who want to play classic just say: "revo sux, angelo can kiss my ass", "revo sux, angelo can kiss my feet", "why much peoples saying "wowow ANTICHEAT wowow" who use hacks on CT2013? nobody. and i sure, that no one will try to use it on CT2014, if it will in classic.", "revo s*x", "fuck revo, classic ofc", "made it WORSE with revo, how can you take a badly coded game and make it worse?"

Sorry but I count 0 good reasons to play in classic, just haters.
so yet again I would advice to do some testing to see if indeed sam classic still is better than sam REV. Get a good server in REV and do some testing while simulating a real match (so number of players and settings). If after these testings REV is PROVEN to be worse, than just play in classic. If they are equally good; rev has more advantages build in. If REV is better... obviously play REV.

at this moment, all players give more attention to demos, so i think if somebody will use cheats - it will easy to see it.

barktooth, unskilled - will not play in ct2014 (im pretty sure ). shootersHero - molotow clan, and i think molotow is out of tourney (no offence)
+ zeo (im sure), jay, boyz (correct me, if i wrong about you Sakke) - have nothing against to play in classic. dont know about graphx, hang and click, but, i guess, if ct will in classic - they will play. rest guys, who vote for rev - only saints members and inactive players like Unskilled. so..

If a game is build for anticheat in comparisson to classic where you can cheat, the chances are smaller that cheaters will play in REV. In classic you just have to trust players.

So:
if you look at cheaters: REV would be better.
if you look at demos: Classic would be better.
if you look at performance: Just do some decent testing and we'll have an answer!

I'd say it's more like 50-50, atleast looking at the discussions I had about rev with players.

I can play in classic too of course but would prefer Rev for sure.

Thats what I thought.. you just don't read.

Just do some decent testing and we'll have an answer!
Requirements:
- Two good servers, 1 classic and 1 revolution. The servers that would be used for real.
- 6 players (since its going to be 3 vs 3) --- these players should know how to adjust settings to optimise for classic (in classic server) and revolution (in revolution server)
- TDM mode (if thats the one thats going to be played) vs Classic
- Multiple tests (preferable multiple players that are to be trusted in making a fair test)
- Method of evaluating the data (fps, latency, crashes, ... etc)

Or maybe I am wrong.. did you test it like this prottoss? Where are the results?

The problem is that almost no-one is open minded (even I prefer rev without having done some serious testing), so by evaluation these things noone can say anymore: "classic is better, rev sux" or "rev is better, classic sux". Facts would be nice to have for making a good and clear judgement. That's all I'm saying.

Does that sound logical to you?
