the cards are totally overhyped idiotic people sell their 980 Ti's like crazy, i am sure the 1070 performs exactly like one while the 1080 delivers around 20% more fps in games

this is a good chance for me to get a free upgrade from 980 to Ti now

Meh, this totally confirms post #16 haha..

in fact there is just one game or application where the 1080 beats 980 SLI in 4K - GTA V

but it comes really close in 4K to 980 SLI, and this card displays all 4K games over 60 FPS, which is impressive

its is "only" 20% faster than a 980 Ti and clocks above 2GHz on air

so since my GTX 980 Ti is gonna arrive today i had to check whether my investment failed or not; in fact the 980 Ti is performing like a GTX 1070 with a little higher power consumption, so if this card is available for 500€ it is totally worth it - i can't wait to see it on several shops

they are close, 1070 is sometimes better in newer games, anyway 980ti for 400€ is deal now.

Pretty much interested into the 1070, with a such card you're good for the next 15 years considering the only graphic improvements right now are VR and UHD.

just found about this awesome site that helps us to see if our PC is balanced or if the CPU bottlenecks the GPU or the opposite, use GPU graphic tasks

My previous pair (ryzen 5 3600X and RTX2070S) was relatively well balanced, with my current 12600K i'd be at 0% with a RTX 3080, which means I should consider upgrading to the 4070 when it'll be out

tbh the 1080/ti is still pretty sexy nowadays, not too many great games came out in the past 6 years fairly said..
so if you wanna call 6 years futureproof, so be it
the manufacturing process and the software tweaks change significantly; rtx, dlss - so why would you fool yourself with an old graphics card?

My friend still has GTX 970, and I got 980, both of us could change it a long ago, but not everyone is still a hardcore gamer at 30+ Happy birthday, btw!
