How to make SS:SE/FE run 144Hz on full screen with OpenGL [Tutorial]

I had a problem with my Nvidia driver and my tweak wouldn't work anymore for some reason, no way to play sam at 144hz anymore, would there be a simplier way to detail this tutorial with CRU? I don't understand any of this thing for shit -.-

I wasn't too tired today and gave a much closer look and finally made it work

sam won't run 144hz with OpenGL (Direct3D is completely glitchy with latest gpus)

also TN in 2023 I had one from BenQ and the contrast was awful, so pale colors

it's about competitive gaming so: TN or OLED

anything else has high response time

I'm using RTX 2060. no probs with d3d

ive just tested tse with actual nvidia drivers and havent encountered any issues so far

I had no issue aswell with my 2070S, Sam would no longer run at 144hz with the RTX 30 series apparently

I'm using RTX 2060. no probs with d3d

modern IPS and fast IPS equally does a great job imo, at least in CS:GO which is a quite demanding game I didn't feel being held back or any sort of annoyance due to the monitor technology, IPS made huge progress

I do look for forthcoming OLED monitors though because i'd like to get a curved monitor again (but only the crappy VA allowed it until now). It's just a bit too expensive for now but I will definitely go OLED at some point soon

also you may not notice it but D3D occurs many micro stutters, it looks like lags but they aren't, it shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as there are less than 2 or 3 players in the server, but above it becomes unbearable

yea but apparently not everyone has these graphics issues. maybe drivers who knows.


I did extensive research before buying my monitor asus vg258qm. IPS has gotten much better but still worse. I can see the difference. motion blur is far less now with tn panel. all lcd monitors suck actually besides the newest 360hz tn version. 240hz oled is by far the best, almost zero response time. that being said ofc newest ips gaming monitors are good enough for competitive gameplay. just not the best )

i've got mine used for 150€. ultra fast is worth it. yes the LG oled is great but there are other's too. dunno if sam will be alive until I can get it for 150 .d
