Counter Strike 1.5

Description: You have the choice between embody a counter terrorist or terrorist.

Maps de_: Terrorists must plant the bomb on Zone A or B or kill the opposing team.
The Anti-Terrorists must prevent the terrorists from planting the bomb or kill the
opposing team.

Maps CS_: The Terrorists must prevent the Anti-Terrorists to free hostages or kill the opposing team.
The Anti-terrorists must free the hostages or kill the opposing team.

I'm not sure but I believe Counter Strike 1.5 is free since 1.6 came out, isn't it ?

LOL You obviously don't know much about Counter Srike, Sam is a full game, counter-strike is a MOD ( like TFM for sam ). If I was stupid, that'd be known, but I believe that Valve themselves released the MOD for free because it's not using Steam and WON is down so it has very limited network. ( I tried it last year and it only had a few Russian, Korean and Arab servers )

I checked, and indeed it's freeware https://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/.../4-2542-1.html

Yeah but have you tried downloading 1.6 ? You are allowed to have the locals but you need to activate the game via Steam. It's like any other online game working with Steam. I'm allowed to download 'Left 4 Dead' from emule for example, put the cache inside the steam folder, as long as I buy a key on Steam. Just like you can burn the files you've downloaded from Steam so you don't have to re-download them everytime.

More generally let's say you bought Crysis 60€, you break your DVD, you are allowed to download it as long as you find the link because it's the one that distributes the link who's outlaw.

Trust me, copyright issues is a big subject in IT studies..

To get back to CS, before Steam, counter strike standalone has always been free. It's an Half-Life key you were paying for to be able to log on to WON, not cs. Ask anyone who've been playing CS for years..

I don't think you are lying... I just thought that a game that you would buy in a store cannot be downloaded for free legally, but I guess Steam and other account-based solutions are exceptions
