And many of you have had the chance to test it, I'd like to know something about the netcode. There is online coop mode right?? If so, how good/bad is the netcode? Did Croteam learn anything from their past mistakes??

Little advice:
Before we should say our final judgment about HD, we should wait for the dm patch
= Take a smoke, steve
There ain't tools for dedicated server yet, so it's hard to tell (u can do server only in game). But what I've tested some good ping servers, they we're okay. But yea, let's wait dedicated support first before judging.

no what we wanna know is IF a player from across the world joins a server across the world will they have a lot of lag/high ping like in SSTSE?

the game has serious lag problems,in a laggy server you cant even see the rockets/cannon balls that your firing, even with a ping of 125 there is major lag, biggest piece of shit since sam2 at first i thought maybe its just my pc that cant keep up but if i run my own server or play single player it runs ok.this will be another game that croteam will dump in a few months
I think this depends on the server. on good servers I didn't notice any lag and the pings are ok for no dedicated servers. maybe better than in sam1.
good things regarding the DM are:
-no mouselag anymore like in other fps (quake,ut3,cs)
-fixed aim in third person view(no pixel skipping anymore, aim is like in first person now and still accurate)
-good performance on the weak 8600gt on 1920x1080
-playable even with very low fps(<30) due to threading rate seperated from frame rate->more responsible aim with low framerates
-for me it's very good playable on the most servers and I don't "feel" any lags because they changed the prediction so that it ignores lags(maybe it doesn't work like that, just a thaught)

I dunno about the complicated stuff but in ut3 there is an option called
"disable one frame thread lag":
"toggles whether the threading rate should be relaxed or strict. relaxed timing can make the framerate smoother whereas strict timing can make the game control more responsive."
and when I have this on I have no mouselag with ping 35 whereas in sam1 and other games it's unplayable with 35 fps.

the same is in sam hd where I can play good with 30 fps and feel no/little mouselag

i think if it was developed with dedicated servers support it would have been a good netcoded game XD ... but since it's hosted over steam using a console-like system it will be a shit always and forever. Try to play in the evening/night, it's impossible dick.
