ive played 1.6 ages ago, with a break of 4 years ive started css then for well, another 5 years and then 1.6 again, oh god is this game lousy, crappy, weak and low it simply depends on the enemies how difficult the match is going to be and since 1.6 is very old almost every match u get via internet is challenging.. and source is much easier because most of the players u find in public servers are untalented or retards.. ah dunno whats wrong there lol.. but if u play with the correct players its the same as in 1.6
the way u move, shoot etc is much more attractive in css though.

to get back to ur question: well best players in what??
i wouldnt say every player who rules asses in 1.6 also rules as much in css
howelse would u explain this? :

ive played 1.6 and css 1vs 1 with a mate who kept playing 1.6
