I have maybe some 300 fps on max settings (in console , not menu... menu is not maxing out everything) on RX 5700 XT when looking at whole LT but hey , GPU is completely sleeping (2-5 %) and when I use 8x MSAA from panel it is 10-15 %... basically because CPU bottleneck, I had worse framerate on previous PC mainly because worse processor , not videocard :|

it doesn‘t, the 5500 XT is performing like a 1070 or RX 590 i‘d say - far away from high end
theres a marginal bottleneck of 5% for rtx and 5600 / 5700 / XT cards comparing to ryzen 3 series

amd cards perform horrible in serious sam, you have to use open gl window mode to get a decent performance

2700X / 16GB / 5500 XT 8GB is a very reasonable setup in 2020

Wut?? Sam uses 1 thread ;-; on my CPU I get 100 % 4.2 GHz on 1 core only and it stays like that for the whole time while the game is open) That is why my GPU is normally used 5 % max on highest settings and if i make them lower you can't even differentiate from idle clock (1-2 %)!! The performance in Fullscreen is bad and it is stuck on 60 Hz and those are the only problems, also Direct3D runs ... maybe 10-20 fps here xD, but windowed runs better in both! And I don't see problem in Windowed at all, it runs very smooth 144 Hz at very high framerates... it almost never drops under 200-250, and Alt-tab is instant ;| The only problem it makes: some small border that makes the resolution 9 pixels shorter (1920x1071 for example) but this doesn't affect aspect ratio in game at all, only that of the viewmodel... but I don't think any of you here run in first-person))

Ah I forgot how hard it was to pin the latch of PCI-E slot, so the card is in place. There was like 5mm space between dark rock 4 pro and RX5500 XT... I had to use plastic spoon as a lever to finally latch this shit without removing cpu cooler. Ram slot latch helped with that

2700x is pretty decent but it's true - heats like a crazy mofo, no wonder I needed such a badass air cooling which has to be quiet at the same time. It's much cheaper than watercooling anyway and doesnt require 2 or 3 crazy 120/140mm fans on top of your case.

Maybe it shows me that because SMT is OFF (I turned it off for testing). I'll turn it on and see if theres any change.

UPDATE: Installed AMD x570 chipset drivers, SMT is still OFF. Tested sirius semen: the GPU power varies from 22 to eeven 52%, sticking to 40-50% GPU power 80% of time. The fps shown by hud_istats=1 didn't change (raise) at all. Still around 150-160 on the LT roof.

CPU still at 17% almost 100% of time...

UPDATE: Installed AMD x570 chipset drivers, SMT is still OFF. Tested sirius semen: the GPU power varies from 22 to eeven 52%, sticking to 40-50% GPU power 80% of time. The fps shown by hud_istats=1 didn't change (raise) at all. Still around 150-160 on the LT roof.
