Doom has never been known for its multiplayer anyway, when I joined sam in august 2007, Doom 3 was already complete empty.

Sides, Privateer is right, the game is not balanced at all, the leveling makes you unlock stuff to take advantage on your opponent... which is retarded. Because people will join games, get destroyed by people who plays regularly, and will quit the game after being tired of getting owned.

Doom will be worth 19€ in my opinion, focus on solo mode.

same with mmo games, maybe there will be elo system or some other rating system that will separate high skill from newcomers

TL;DR - Its only beta - give it time

take League or Dota for example - an underleveled person will never play with max level players unless smurfing (signs of that are obvious to the systems) and in Ranked players in low elo wont play against people who's elo is significantly higher unless smurfing and again, system will know that.

in World of Warcraft in PvP modes players are assigned to battles according to their Item level - they will never be playing versus players who's armor is 5 times better than theirs.

Wow, I wanna buy a real copy of some game either, especially because I still use dvds ;P I got it on Steam for -66% of its price, this game is awesome, both campaign and multiplayer modes, definitely better than Doom 3. This game is surprisingly well optimized, by the way 50-70 fps on utlra with my i3 and GTX 960, I was shocked enough
