News regarding 42Amsterdam

It's been a long time we haven't given any news and it would be time to talk a bit about it:

Ostap does no longer communicate with us (admins).

By consequence we are starting to notice several disfunctions:

- Rocket Chat is down
- Many people have trouble accessing servers/site/forums
- Site statistics are broken

that is all we have noticed for now but if he remains silent*/away, it is not excluded that further disfunction may occur in the future as he is the only person able to provide fixing for that.

For the time being, the 42 A'dam administrators are doing their best to maintain the servers in good/playable state and to bring new stuff, configuring the servers and adapting them for the latest demands.

* Ostap still visits the 42A'dam site each day but he remains away from all communications. Just consider that 42Amsterdam operates without him from now on, until he may decide to come back/communicate again.

The fact that he is still visiting the website tells me that he has no intention of letting the server down (the question was legit though as Rocket Chat was a paid service and that he just let it down - but we didn't use it that much and the investment probably wasn't worth it enough).

Earlier at the beginning of the year we made a list of lot of things to change and improve, after that Ostap told me that he wanted to refound an entire website because the current one was getting too old.

This might be only a hypothesis but maybe (and I insist on MAYBE) he is working on it into background.

This still wouldn't justify why he decided to cut contact all of sudden. Maybe i'm totally wrong and after all he just got tired of serious sam

Just think it's weird for someone that invested so much to just disappear. I'd totally understand if he left for whatever reason, but a little info would be nice. Letting things like rocketchat just die unannounced is weird and letting sam stats just die is weird.

ss stats have worked correctly for so long, I see no other reason than Ostap tweaking things in the current site (maybe doing tests for the new site?), we also noticed a strange background on the forums but it stayed one day only.

Ostap is here and does things without telling us. But what?

Wrong. Rocket Chat is free if you install and configure it yourself.

I could even install it on gz under chat.gamezone24.net link for example and you would access it the same as you did on 42adams.

All I can think of atm is that the servers php/mysql version has updated or maybe his host forced an automatic update, thus making older version to stop working.

This also might be wrong because if this happened, forums would've been down (old vbulletin requires older php and mysql version).
