42Amsterdam Servers Update 30/05/2023

New set of SE GameZone24.net servers:

- The Only One returns with its reference settings
- Added Shotty Trouble (Little Trouble only shotgun)
- Added Pro Maps server

Regular SE DM servers:

- Disabled server Frag 02 Lefty
- Disabled server Frag 04 Go Hunting
- Server numbers have been rearranged
- Frag Only Shotty will now be included in the new GZ24 set of servers
- Frag Multimap (classic) will now be included in the new GZ24 set of servers (ammo on)
- Frag limit of frag servers from 01 to 10 has been modified to 30
- Added Frag server multimap long game (50 frags)
- Added Frag server multimap unlimited (Unlimited frag)
- Added Skyward's server - popular and own selection of good community maps (map pack coming soon!)
- Modified MOTD of all* frag servers
- Bump message has been reactivated on all* servers (5 minutes of delay between each bump)²
- Game difficulty has been changed to Normal on all servers going from 01 to 91

* will not include private servers
² did not work, will try to fix it later

Other server update:

- Disabled SVSE26 mod server
- Disabled ST8 mod server
- Disabled numerous SE beta test servers

Admin update:

- Godlike has been removed from private server administrators
- Mazuto has been added to private server administrators

Nearly nobody reads 42 A'dam outside of admins and a few FE players that you can count on the fingers of one hand, so nobody's gonna die if I do it later

Good job. Actually noone knows what happened to Ostap and how long will the servers survive. I hope he comes back someday. This would actually be insane - almost 0 servers with some t34's ones and our own .de Gz24 server, which is private anyway for 1at1's+

That's true, same as how nobody would die if these changes didn't happen or if over 60% of the current servers which are unused were disabled and active ones were replaced with multimap noncycle/dynamic config ones etc

- From Sunday 27th August, All DM servers from 01 to 91 will be set back to Hard game difficulty

edit:

in addition certain broken functions have been repaired recently (like rocketchat and live stats)

Ostap still does not communicate with us (for still unknown reasons) but he's still around checking for the SAMTRACK system.

would be also great to remove powerups from maps. At least remove sd from LT, please.

We can't remove powerups independantly, it's all or nothing

We've been discussing this subject many times and thought it would be a bad idea to remove powerups because that's the only thing non veteran players can use to kill us. Of course it also pisses me off when i'm being killed by a powerups user but if I try to put myself at their place I would also be pissed off being 30/0ed all the time and just leave the game to never return.

Not everyone feels like putting the energy to improve in a videogame, some will be looking for any competitivity aspect, the majority of others just want fun, they pick up powerups and make 2 or 3 frags and that's nuff to make them happy and stay

Amsterdam servers are here to restore the primal way of playing serious sam, the competitivity aspect will rather be handled by the custom servers.

Ostap's still here as far as I know, I see him online on the admin site almost everyday, but he remains away from any communication
