    Questions about Serious Sam - The Second Encounter: Dedicated Server [ Co - op ]

    Hello to all users of this forum. I am new here, so I am not sure if I have posted in the right section. Also, I am writing through a translator and my messages may not be displayed correctly. I have read the entire forum but did not find the information I need, so I would like to address those who host their servers or are the administrator of the Serious Sam server. I want to launch my own co-op server in Serious Sam, which can be accessed by players from all over the world.
    First, I set up the "init.ini" file in the "Scripts/Dedicated/DefaultCoop" folder.
    Then I created a .bat file to run the server in console mode.
    I launch the server, everything works. I log in to my server from another computer, enter administrator rights (password). And then I ran into such a problem, when I am the Administrator, I do not know some admin commands. Tell me how I can change the map to the next one. How to look at the list of maps that can be selected. How to look at the IP address of all players on the server. How to forcibly change a player's nickname. In which file in your game client can I register my admin rights so that I don't have to enter them every time I log into the server? I've been searching the Internet for a long time for any information about admin commands, but I only found a player kick and information on the server. Please write all the admin commands that he can use to manage the server while on the server.

    Hello

    In-game you can use certain commands to manage your server, when running from the game itself:

    /listplayers()
    This one lists all the players in the server, it will give you a number (I don't remember if it displays the IP adress, i'm not sure, you can find the IP adresses in the server log though.)

    /kickclient(#, "reason")
    to simply kick a player out (# is the number you got from the listplayers command)

    /addipmask("IP")
    /remipmask("IP")

    Ban a player

    If you are running a dedicated server and have set yourself as administrator, the commands are basically the same but slightly different:

    /Admin("listplayers()")

    /Admin("kickclient(#,"reason")")

    etc etc.

    To set yourself as administrator on your dedicated server, you must set an admin password (inside init.ini):
    /net_strAdminPassword="youradminpassword"

    and login with*
    /net_strConnectPassword="youradminpassword"

    For the rest that you mention, those are third party features integrated into the 42amsterdam servers by complex scripts, you cannot use them on your own server unless you know scripting and reproduce them.
    About changing map, it automatically swaps to the next one when the game is finished or when everyone leaves

    *useful tip: you can enter the whole command into your netsetting (sam directory, scripts, NetSettings) so you can always join as administrator without having to manually type the command every time)

    You can also make .ini files with short commands (I call them aliases) and enter the commands much quicker. You can also make .ini files with sequence of commands to execute shit even much faster.
    Where r my 115e? and now we Have a Problem.

    Skyward, Hello.
    Thank you for responding to my message. I know about these commands [ /listplayers(), /kickclient, /addipmask("IP"), Admin("listplayers()"), net_strAdminPassword="youradminpassword. ], some of them are in the commands folder. I didn't know that the commands to change the card are custom on 42amsterdam servers. I know that the cards change automatically, but what if we play with the players somewhere in the middle of the passage of the cooperative and for some reason we need to run the map further. For example, the fifth or seventh.
    But thanks for this advice (sam directory, scripts, NetSettings). I think this will make it much easier for me to work with the server.

    Thanks for reminding me about this. I know it's possible, but I don't know how to do it. How to write such commands, it's difficult without a sample.

    The machine I'm running Serious Sam: Dedicated Server on is a hosting machine. I haven't measured the internet speed on it, but I think it's sufficient.

    Once again, I welcome the users of this forum.
    The other day we decided to play Serious Sam - The Second Encounter. I launched my server (Dedicated Server [Co-op]) on a third-party machine. At first, one person joined the server, let's call him Player_1. Then a second player Player_2 joined and the player with the nickname Player_1 had a little more ping. Then a third player Player_3 joined and the first two players had an even greater ping. But after there were already three players on the server, the remaining players simply could not enter the server. When connecting to the server, loading occurs and at the very end, when the loading is already finished and you should appear on the server, at that moment everything breaks off and throws you into the game menu. The console says something like this (Connection error, such a player already exists on the server).

    Help me solve several questions:
    [1]. Why does the server not allow more than three players?
    [2]. Why, when connecting a second and third player, does everyone's ping increase dramatically and terrible lags begin in the game?

    The following values ??are set in the server config in init.ini:
    gam_ctMaxPlayers = 8;
    gam_bWaitAllPlayers = 0;
    ser_bWaitFirstPlayer = 1;
    ser_iKickOnSyncBad = 0;
    ser_bKickOnSyncLate = 0;
    ser_tmPingUpdate = 1;
    ser_iMaxAllowedBPS = 20000;

    you should do a speedtest, if you don't use fibre then your upload speed may be very low, which isn't good to host servers.

    To respond your answer about the maxallowedBPS, the max value is 1000000, i'm not sure this would help with the server performance itself, but players would benefit lower pings if they use a custom netsetting like the Ultra Connection (downloadable in our download section)

    Maybe this will be useful to someone. I found a solution to the problem I encountered myself. If you and your friends enter a server with the same Serious Sam game clients and you are not allowed into the server, it says that such a player is already on the server, then you need to change the player profile before entering the server. If your friend has PROFILE 0 selected, then you just need to select the next one, PROFILE 1 or PROFILE 2. As it turns out, this is important for the game Serious Sam.

    i guess you and your friends must have the exact copy of the same game from one another for that to be the problem, isn't it?
