Retro videogames nowadays considered as vintage have seen a major price increase and people started collecting them to fill collections, the most determined are trying to get the original boxes aswell and that quickly reaches huge prices

I do often play old games on emulator, games I owned in the past so I see no problem with that

c'est fini les bacs de jeux SNES à 2€ chacun chez EasyCash

Sure, on ebay by example the auctions are sometimes very crazy, I know of collectors who are of truly fullseter for games in loose and same sometime complet. Me I like collect the games in complet "CIB" preference in MINT, but I finished stop, just sometime I still search of the boxs or manuals to complet it.

i am a big retro collector and fan, i recently started to mod gameboys and collect pokemon cib games
N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, X360, Gamecube, PSP, PS Vita, GBA, GBC, Switch consoles and games - everything PAL though

back in the days there was no dlc and internet force - the game was ready to play and that's what i like the most about retro

the community grows i guess because people could barely afford games back in that era and more and more people are able to do so 30 years later

you really do have a great collection there, Titi

hm sad. just stay a "legend" on gz these days. inactive since decades or activ as "Alias" with vpn lol.

This, I hate what the game industry has become, every new game is disapointing in a way, irritating because new devs have no clue about optimization, and they want your wallet everytime they bring in new content which means they release unfinished games on purpose.

    PS2, PS3 , Xbox 360 , PS4 are considered retro gaming consoles nowdays?

By the way used to have a pretty decent collection , including various brand new sealed games and boxed consoles .. I started to think I couldn't keep collecting all those stuff and pretending to have enough space in a house to display them, with life moving on etc. And those things getting in boxes and stored there wasn't what I liked about collecting , I always liked giving myself the idea of being in a old games / pc store in my room, so sold all and earned good money that are already gone and my stuff lost forever with my memories.

    It was a mistake

Also no updates , developers were forced to make things properly or at least tried to in order to deliver a product that was solid, there was no turning back when the game was shipped and put on stores shelfs , nowdays they know they can release hundred of gbs of updates and fix their product, which in some cases also becomes very different from what was sold at the beginning.

Another thing I clearly remember was the thrill of meeting somebody who played the same game you did, and tells you how to get past that puzzle or boss that you were never able to beat, and so finally after months or ages you were able to beat the game, I had a Internet connection in late 2003 and unlike today back then the internet didnt contain every answer you needed .
This made games feel enormously longer than they actually were .

to me retro means going back in time, like reviving/revisiting something old for example
the ps4 is 11 years old already - ive started to play the infamous series (on PS3 also) and really enjoyed it

providers like sony and microsoft use gaming subscription methods these days and release digital versions of their consoles
i dont like this trend as they are selling us "licences" and not games anymore

all the old games (hardcopies) and consoles are art, art that needs to be secured in my eyes

i sold alot of stuff too, thinking it was garbage but i'm having fun nowadays hunting for those things on trade fairs, flea markets or just ebay

Sure, I got caught up with the game "Anthem" few years ago, which unfortunately was a real carnage and scared off the entire gaming community, a true disaster

Yeah, I have many friends who had to sell with regret like you, I understand this feeling it's difficult.

4 years ago I bought ps1 and ps2 and few Crash bash games, i really dont want to say the price i paid for this..
Tell me... where should i go? To the left,
where nothing is right? Or to the right,
    where nothing is left?
